In order to advance quality in the provision of care to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses, SDHPNA promotes certification of health professionals. After a meeting of the board and membership present at the Aug 2013 chapter meeting, it has been decided that the San Diego Chapter of HPNA will offer a yearly scholarship for CNA’s, and then a rotating yearly scholarship will be available for one of the 3 levels - RN/Ped RN, LVN, APRN/Administrator. As we receive more support from our members, we are able to offer more scholarship opportunities. We will also offer a scholarship for the AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly, which will be held in San Diego next year (watch for criteria for the annual assembly to follow). This year we will start with the Generalist RN/Pediatric RN certification in addition to CNA.
